Ace Hotel / United Artist Theater

Ace Hotel, formerly known as Grauman’s United Artists Theatre, is remembered for premiering the works of such great actors as Charlie Chaplin, Douglas Fairbanks and Mary Pickford.  Originally constructed in 1927 as a theatre for both live and movie events, this Spanish Gothic style landmark will will re-open as ACE Hotel.  The 13 story structure, Designed by C. Howard Crane, was inspired by castles and cathedrals that Fairbanks and Pickford saw on their honeymoon in Spain.
