Museum of Natural History
(Los angeles, CA)
The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County is the third largest natural science and cultural history museum in the United States. Designed by local architects Frank Hudson and William A.D. Munsell, the original museum -then known as the Los Angeles County Museum of History, Science, and Art- was a blend of Spanish Renaissance, Romanesque, and Beaux-Arts architectural styles.Although the museum has expanded over the years, it is best recognized by the original 1913 rotunda designed by Walter Horace Judson.
The Museum of Natural History is a public-private partnership between the non-profit Natural History Museum Foundation and the County of Los Angeles.
