St. james Park Apartments

The St. James Park Apartments sits in an area that in the late 1880’s were surrounded by lush gardens with curving paths and arroyo stone features catering to some of the wealthiest citizens in Los Angeles. People could be seen in horse-drawn carriages riding through the park as a tourist destination from downtown Los Angeles. Neighbors such as Estelle Doheny and Charles Silent built grand houses that can be seen today. The University of Southern California still calls this area home after 137 years
Today, St. James Park Apartments is an affordable housing community for families. The complex consists of four buildings, one of which is the former mansion of Curly Howard who was a member of the comedy group The Three Stooges.
