Ray Adamyk began his career in construction at the young age of 15, working with his uncle in Canada. At 25, he visited the state of California to train for a triathlon and ultimately decided to call the golden state home. Ray then utilized his adept construction and business experience, combined with his love for historic structures, to start Spectra Company in 1985. He has since grown Spectra into the largest historic construction company on the West Coast.

Ray believes historic structures are the key to defining and preserving the character and legacies of communities. His philosophy has become both the company’s culture and mission: Respect, Restore & Revitalize. He served on the Board of Trustees for the California Preservation Foundation from 2008 to 2014, holds memberships in the Association for Preservation Technology International, National Trust for Historic Preservation, California Preservation Foundation, Los Angeles Conservancy, Western Association for Art Conservation, and AIA LA Affiliation. His historic preservation projects have received recognition from the National Trust of Historic Preservation, California Preservation Foundation, Los Angeles Conservancy, Long Beach Heritage, and Pasadena Heritage.
