Fairmont Breakers Hotel

The Fairmont Breakers Long Beach has undergone a meticulous restoration that returned the iconic 1926 Spanish Renaissance Revival landmark to its original purpose as a luxury hotel. The project revived key historic spaces—including the Sky Room, lobby, and exterior—transforming the former senior living facility into a vibrant destination while honoring its architectural legacy.

Spectra Company played an integral role in the restoration, bringing specialized expertise in historic preservation construction. Their work focused on carefully rehabilitating original materials, architectural details, and craftsmanship, ensuring that the building’s historic character was preserved while meeting modern building standards.

Originally designed by Walker & Eisen, the renovation protected character-defining features such as the ornate lobby ceiling and the rare WWII-era cupola-mounted pillbox. At the same time, the project incorporated significant seismic retrofits, new energy-efficient building systems, modernized guest rooms, and a new 4,000-square-foot pool deck.

Now reopened in Downtown Long Beach, the Fairmont Breakers seamlessly blends its 1920s glamour with contemporary amenities, standing as a renewed landmark that honors its past while serving today’s visitors.
